Terrorist leader Abdul Qader Saleh, head of the Qatar-backed terrorist organization Sunni Islamist al-Tawhid Brigade killed in Turkey after being injured in Syria.
Abdul Qadir Saleh has officially succumbed to wounds he sustained
when the Syrian forces bombed a car he was riding in in the the area of
Aleppo where a secret meeting was said to take place 2 days ago. Their
location was said to have been “leaked” to the Syrian officials.
They were all riding in a car together when the blast struck
them. Abdul Qadir Saleh was seriously wounded, and taken to a Turkish
hospital. Also killed in that blast was Yussef Al-Abbas, also known as
Abu Al-Tayyeb.
Abbas was said to be the Intelligence Chief Senior Commander in Aleppo.
Saleh was injured on Friday in an air strike by Assad's
forces on Aleppo, activists said, in a setback to rebels defending the city
against a loyalist attack.
Aleppo,
Syria's commercial hub and most populous city before the uprising against Assad
erupted in 2011, has been witnessing heavy fighting since Assad's forces,
backed by Shi'ite militia from Iraq and the Lebanese party Hezbollah, launched an
offensive two weeks ago to retake rebel-held areas in the city, according to
Reuters.
The opposition
Aleppo News Network said Friday in a statement that the raid on Thursday
targeted an army base that rebels had captured, killing commander Youssef
al-Abbas of al-Tawhid Brigades, one of the biggest armed opposition groups.
Tawhid's
leadership was holding a meeting in the base when the raid occurred, the
statement said.
Saleh was taken
to a hospital in Turkey, 45 kms (28 miles) to the north, along with Abdelaziz
al-Salameh, another top commander, the statement said.
